Arguvan (Kurdish: Erxewan/Arxewan)[2] is a municipality and district of Malatya Province, Turkey.[3] Its area is 1,096 km2,[4] and its population is 6,869 (2022).[1] The mayor is Ersoy Eren (CHP).

Demographics

The majority of the district is Alevi from both Kurdish and Turkish ethnicity. The Kurdish Atman tribe reside in ten villages and hamlets in the district. Other Kurdish tribes include the Direjan, Kurecik,[6] and the Parçikan.[7]
