Asbolane, previously cobalt ochre[2]:172 is a manganese (IV) oxy-hydroxide mineral containing also cobalt, nickel, magnesium, and calcium ions. It crystallizes in the hexagonal crystal system.[3] Its chemical formula is Mn4+(O,OH)2·(Co,Ni,Mg,Ca)x(OH)2x·nH2O.
