Autopax Passenger Services (SOC) Ltd has its origins in the old state organization called the South African Road Transport Services that offered two services that at the time that were called, Translux and Transtate.[1] In the 1990s, it became part of Autonet, a division of Transnet.[1] Autonet would later be corporatised and is now called Autopax Passenger Services (Pty) Ltd and became part of Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa when that organization was formed in March 2009.[1][2]: 9
