Avride

Avride's self-driving cars are retrofitted Hyundai Ioniq 5s.^[13] The vehicles are equipped with lidars, radars, cameras and other sensors, as well as with computational hardware and various electronic units that collect data from sensors and the car, preprocess this information, and perform diagnostics.

The company conducts on-road testing of its self-driving cars in Austin, Texas,^[14] and in the Gangnam district of Seoul, South Korea.^[15][16]

As of April 2026^[update], Avride has 200 robotaxis in service.^[17]

Avride operates delivery robots, which deliver foods from restaurants in the United States and South Korea.^[19] They navigate sidewalks at the speed of 8 km/h (5 mph) and can cross the roads using crosswalks and traffic lights.^[20]

Robots are designed by the company^[21] and utilize some of the software it has developed for its autonomous cars. Like the company's cars, the robots are also equipped with lidars, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. The robots are being produced in a factory in Taiwan.^[22]

As of March 16, 2026^[update], the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has logged 37 accidents involving Avride vehicles in autonomous mode.^[23]
