Awadhesh Pratap Mall was the ruler of Majhauli Raj in the Deoria district before the state merged with the former British provinces as Uttar Pradesh in 1947 when India became independent from British rule.[1] After independence, he was a member of the Indian National Congress party and won multiple elections to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.[2]

Awadhesh Pratap Mall was born in the early 1900s in Majhauli Raj as the descendant of Raja Dev Narain Mall who was a well known ruler of the aforementioned state in 1857.[3] Mall was 117th ruler of Majhauli.
