Basil David Anthony (born 1986), also known as CEO Extraordinaire or CEOExtraO, is a Ghanaian-British entrepreneur and author. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Modern Floors and Walls, a flooring and interior design company with operations in Ghana, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.[1]
Anthony was born in Ghana in 1986.[2]
Career
Early ventures
Anthony began his entrepreneurial career in 2006 when he founded Silky I.T. Production, a web hosting and digital marketing company based in Ghana.[3] In 2009, he established Ticket Ghana, an event ticketing and travel booking platform.[3] The company partnered with various entertainment events and won the Best Showbiz-Friendly Company (Ghana) award at the City People Entertainment Awards in Lagos, Nigeria in 2014.[4]
Modern Floors and Walls
In 2017, Anthony founded Modern Floors and Walls in Accra, Ghana.[5] The company specialises in flooring products including vinyl tiles, artificial carpet grass, and waterproofing materials for residential and commercial use. Between March 2021 and April 2022, the company opened four showrooms across Accra.[6]
In December 2022, Modern Floors expanded internationally with a showroom in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[6] The brand holds UK trademark registration and distribution through Amazon. Anthony has pursued expansion into East Africa, participating in the Uganda Buildcon International Exhibition in August 2024, where he sought partnerships in the Ugandan construction sector.[1][6]
The company's Super Proof 3-in-1 waterproof paint won Emerging Product of the Year at the Ghana CEO Awards in 2025.[7]
Writing and philanthropy
Anthony is the author of Dream Bigger: The Young Entrepreneur's Journal, a guide for aspiring entrepreneurs.[8] He has distributed copies of the book to schools and students across Ghana.[8]
Through the Basil David Anthony Foundation, he has organised initiatives including the distribution of sanitary products to girls in Ghana's Upper West Region and food distribution programmes for children.[3]
