The Battle of Gwalior took place between the Maratha Empire and the Kingdom of Gohad between 1754 and 1755. The Marathas were ultimately victorious and defeated the forces of Gohad.

Background
While Marathas were busy in Battle of Kumher the Jat Ruler of Gohad recovered his territory and captured Gwalior fort, taking advantage of absence of main Maratha army. Raghunathrao dispatched Vitthal Sadashiv Vinchulkar, on his arrival Rana Bhim Singh fled to Gwalior fort and locked himself in.[2][1]

Aftermath
Marathas captured the fort of Gwalior and Nanasahehb build tomb of Rana Bhim Singh there. The fort was recaptured by his son in 1761 but was then again captured by Mahadji Shinde in 1765.[2]
