Demirçin began wrestling in 2000.[1] In 2006, he won the gold medal in the 69 kg event at the European Cadet Wrestling Championships.[1]
In 2010, he won the bronze medal in the men's freestyle 74 kg event at the 2010 European Wrestling Championships in Baku.[1][2][3] He defeated Britain's Grundy in the opening round, then lost to Russia's Denis Tsargush in the second round. After Tsargush reached the final, Demirçin advanced to the repechage, where he defeated Austria's Philipp Crepaz and Georgia's Gela Saghirashvili to claim the bronze medal.[2][3] He also finished seventh at the 2010 Wrestling World Cup.[1]
In 2011, he won gold medals at the G. Kartozia & V. Balavadze Tournament in Tbilisi and the Wacław Ziolkowski Memorial in Poznań, both in the 74 kg division.[1] In 2012, he finished eighth at the Wrestling World Cup and placed third at the Olympic qualification tournament.[1]
In 2013, he won the silver medal in the 74 kg event at the 2013 Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov Tournament in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.[4] In 2016, he won another gold medal at the Wacław Ziolkowski Memorial in Spała in the 74 kg division.[1] In 2020, after moving up to 79 kg, he finished fifth at both the 2020 European Wrestling Championships and the Wacław Ziolkowski Memorial.[1]
After ending his active wrestling career, he began working as a national team coach.[5]
