Baďan (earlier also Baďany; Hungarian: Bagyan) is a village and municipality in the Banská Štiavnica District, in the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia.

The municipality lies at an altitude of 401 metres (1,316 ft)[2] and covers an area of 15.10 km2 (5.83 sq mi) (2025).[4]

History

In historical records, the village was first mentioned in 1262. Originally it belonged to the Archbishopric of Esztergom, however King Béla IV gave the village to Bzovík Castle.
