The Bașeu is a right tributary of the river Prut in Romania.[1][2] It discharges into the Prut near Ștefănești, on the border with Moldova.[3] Its length is 118 km (73 mi) and its basin size is 965 km2 (373 sq mi).[2] It flows through the villages and towns Dămileni, Suharău, Bașeu, Hudești, Havârna, Gârbeni, Tătărășeni, Balinți, Galbeni, Negreni, Știubieni, Săveni, Vlăsinești, Sârbi, Hănești, Moara Jorii, Mihălășeni, Negrești, Păun, Năstase, Ștefănești.
