Belmont-Bretenoux (French pronunciation: [bɛlmɔ̃ bʁətnu]; Occitan: Bèlmont) is a commune in the Lot department in southwestern France.

The name Belmont is formed from the medieval terms bèl (beautiful) and mont (mountain).[3] The current name dates from 1929.[4]
