History

The district was established in 1930.[2]

Administrative and municipal status

Within the framework of administrative divisions, Beloretsky District is one of the fifty-four in the Republic of Bashkortostan.[1] It is divided into nineteen selsoviets, comprising ninety-nine rural localities.[6] The town of Beloretsk serves as its administrative center,[3] despite being incorporated separately as a town of republic significance—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.[6]

As a municipal division, the district is incorporated as Beloretsky Municipal District, with the town of republic significance of Beloretsk being incorporated within it as Beloretsk Urban Settlement.[7] Its nineteen selsoviets are incorporated as nineteen rural settlements within the municipal district.[7] The town of Beloretsk serves as the administrative center of the municipal district as well.[7]
