Bergaueria is an Ediacaran[2]–Miocene[3] trace fossil believed to represent the dwelling trace of Cnidarians (Actinia – sea anemones).[4] It likely caused mixing and fluid exchange into the sediment (bioirrigation).[5] Similar traces (Cheiichnus) can be made by rotational movement of arthropods.[6]
