Bert Owen

Owen wrestled out of Bolton^[1] and was the 1967 Northern Open champion.^[2] He was a member of the Victor Gymnasium in Anfield^[3] and was a British champion at middle-heavyweight.^[4]

Owen represented the England team^[5] at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica, where he participated in 74 kg welterweight category^[6] being out-pointed by Hukum Singh of India^[7] and was defeated by a fall against gold medal winner Muhammad Bashir of Pakistan.^[8]
