Bianji

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bianji (fl.7th century) was a Buddhist monk who lived in the Tang dynasty. A disciple of Xuanzang, he compiled the Great Tang Records on the Western Regions and translated Sanskrit sutras into Chinese. He was executed by Emperor Taizong for having an illicit affair with the emperor's daughter Princess Gaoyang. Though this is disputed.[1]
