Bir El Ater Province

Bir El Ater Province (Arabic: ولاية بئر العاتر, romanized: Wilāyat Biʾr al-ʿĀtir) is a province (wilaya) in northeastern Algeria, with Bir El Ater as its provincial capital. It was created in 2026 by separation from Tébessa Province.[3]

The province lies on the Tunisian border and covers an area of about 5,100 km².[4] Around 98,441 people lived in the province at the 2008 census,[2] giving it a population density of about 19 inhabitants per square kilometre.
