Birchmore is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on Kangaroo Island about 138 kilometres (86 miles) south-west of the state capital of Adelaide and about 20 kilometres (12 miles) south-east of the municipal seat of Kingscote.[2][6]

Its boundaries were created in May 2002 for the “long established name” which was derived from the Birchmore Community Hall, a facility located within the locality’s boundaries.[2]

The principal land use in the locality is primary production.[2][8]

Birchmore is located within the federal division of Mayo, the state electoral district of Mawson and the local government area of the Kangaroo Island Council.[4][3][2]
