Boonsin Padklang (Thai: บุญสิน พาดกลาง, RTGS: Bunsin Phatklang; born 22 September 1965)[1] is a retired Royal Thai Army officer who served as the commander of the 2nd Army Area from 2024 to 2025, which covers Northeast Thailand (Isan).[2][3][4]
Boonsin was born in Ban Dung district, Udon Thani province, Thailand, in 1965. His father, a junior police officer, inspired him to pursue a military career. He grew up and received his education in Ban Dung district, Udon Thani province, during the time his father was involved in counter-communist operations in the Cold War era.[5]
He attended the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School, Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy, and Royal Thai Army's Command and General Staff College.[6]
