Bostryx is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Bulimulidae.[3][2]

Previously this genus was placed within the Orthalicidae.[4]

Bostryx sensu stricto is the type genus of the subfamily Bostrycinae,[3] but some species of Bostryx sensu lato are placed within Bulimulinae.[3] There is need further research to elucidate which subgenera belong to which subfamily.[3]

Distribution

There are 29 species from the genus Bostryx in Chile[5] and numerous species in other countries.

Ecology

They live under stones and on cacti.[5]

Bostryx feeds on lichens.[5]
