Boyha Biswanath Tudu

Boyha Biswanath Tudu is an Indian Santali language writer known for his contribution to Santali literature written in the Ol Chiki script. He is a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar for his contribution to children's literature in Santali.[1]

Early life and background
Boyha Biswanath Tudu was born in Andharjur village in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. He belongs to the Santhal community. Alongside his literary career, he has worked as an officer with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in Odisha.[2]
Literary career
Tudu began writing in the Ol Chiki script in the 1980s. His first novel, Haire Chando Likhon, was published in 1987.[2]
Over the decades, he has authored numerous works including novels, children's literature, poems, travelogues and prose writings in Santali.[2]
His notable works include:

- Sishu Saoned (2004)[2]
- Mission Olchki 2025[3]
He has written more than 100 books in Santali, making him one of the most prolific Santali writers from Odisha.[2]
Santali literature, including authors such as Tudu, forms part of the Civil Services Examination syllabus under Santali Literature optional subject.[4]
Awards and recognition
In 2010, Tudu received the Bal Sahitya Puraskar from the Sahitya Akademi.[1]
In 2011, he was honoured at the 'Akhra Awards' ceremony recognising Santali writers.[5]
