Brian Muhumuza Bishanga

Bishanga was born in Mbarara, Uganda to Abel Muhumuza and Jovia Kyarimpa. At eight months old, he lost his father in a motor accident and was subsequently raised by his uncle.^[1]

He attended Lyakisana Primary School, St. Gonzaga Secondary School Kijjukizo, and Sseke SS High School.^[2]

During his secondary education, Bishanga demonstrated an early aptitude for writing and editing, serving as a columnist and sub-editor for school magazines. He actively followed current affairs and entertainment news by purchasing newspapers, tabloids, and magazines from vendors, establishing himself among peers as "the reliable 411 plug" for the latest updates.^[1]

Bishanga pursued a diploma in Project Planning and Management at Makerere University.

Bishanga began his career in the Ugandan entertainment industry in 2014 as a music fan, volunteer promoter and later evolved into a personal assistant to musicians including Blu*3’s Jackie Chandiru during his time at the university.

In 2015, Brian worked as an internee at Banda Community ICT Center and Diva Awards Afrika.^[3]

While providing administrative and media support at the Diva Awards Afrika, Brian Muhumuza and his team awarded Ugandan entertainers Juliana Kanyomozi, Halima Namakula, Aisha Nabukeera, Roz Merie Atim, and Joanita Kawalya of Afrigo Band at the pre-season launch party of the awards.

In 2016, Muhumuza coordinated the Angella Katatumba Mulago Yaffe Charity Concert, which raised funds for the Uganda Cancer Institute, and the hand-over of a phototherapy machine and syringe pump that saved premature babies. In the same year, he managed publicity of Katatumba’s attendance at international forums, including the first ever United Nations World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul and fourth African Union symposium in Nairobi, Kenya.^[3]

In 2021, Brian Muhumuza established BM Publications (BMP), a consultancy firm specializing in brand support, digital content creation, corporate social responsibility and reputation management for public figures, and non-governmental organizations.^[1]

Bishanga coordinated the launch of the Desire Luzinda Foundation at Kampala Serena and sanitary pad donations for Uganda Christian University students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since then, Bishanga has provided personal support, public relations, coordination, and media liaison services for several Ugandan public figures including Sheilah Gashumba, Judith Allen Heard, Jackie Chandiru, Angella Katatumba, Desire Luzinda, Leona Buhenzire, and Shakib Cham Lutaaya.

He expanded his clientele internationally, supporting figures like Claudia Naisabwa (Kenya), Sara Mulindwa (United Kingdom), Jerry Fisayo Bambi (France/Nigeria), Basil David Anthony (Ghana), Atong Amos Agook Juac (South Sudan), and Azeezah Hashim (Kenya).

In 2024, Bishanga pitched and presented the induction of Judith Heard, at the Green Carpet Fashion Awards in Hollywood, Los Angeles, where she was honoured amongst other world’s young leaders who drive political, social, and environmental solutions for a brighter collective future, riding shoulders with Donatella Versace, Zendaya, John Legend, Bobi Wine and Annie Lennox.

In 2025, Muhumuza and his team nominated Kenyan media personality Azeezah Hashim for the 19th The Future Awards Africa in Nigeria in the category “On Air Personality Of The Year” that she won and hosted the gala.

In March 2026, Brian via BM Publications curated, produced and published an International Women's Day campaign honoring the global Give To Gain theme of generosity and reciprocity alongside the call to "balance the scales" for gender equity.

The project leveraged creative entrepreneurship, strategic partnerships, and digital journalism through a high-profile editorial photoshoot featuring emerging Ugandan fashion creatives, and crossover lifestyle influencers, Televisions, print media, blogs and graphic designers.

In March 2026, Bishanga and his BM Publications team coordinated PR and media for Norland International Uganda's 7th Anniversary and Vmax Tea & Coffee Shops franchise launch at UMA Show Grounds, Lugogo, Kampala. The campaign emphasized wellness entrepreneurship and franchise models, attracting regional participants and highlighting East Africa's growing interest in cross-border business opportunities. ^[4]

Bishanga has represented Uganda's interests at international youth forums. In 2022, he participated in the United Nations Best Diplomats Simulation Conference in Bangkok, Thailand and the International Youth Conference (New York).^[5] He publicizes clients' work, influence and impact centered on mentorship and goodwill for youth empowerment, global governance, refugee policy, climate action, and sustainable development.

In 2021, Bishanga founded Kyarimpa Cares, a non-profit organization focused on social welfare and community engagement.^[6]

In December 2023, the organisation through Brian collaborated with music artiste Rickman Manrick and poultry supplier YoKuku for an end of year charity dubbed “Ndi Muto”. Chicken, cereal and other food supplies were donated to the ghettos of Bakuli in a christmas luncheon and domestic give-aways worth millions of shillings that brought a smile on many.^[7]

In 2025, the organization partnered with the AVSI Foundation and UNHCR in the Game Connect programme, a sports-based mental health intervention at the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in Kikuube District.^[8]

Bishanga has worked on afforestation initiatives alongside the Judith Heard Foundation. In 2024, he participated in a project with the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association, Bishop Dan Migosi and National Forestry Authority of Uganda to plant medicinal and fruit tree seedlings at ‘Life 4 Kids’ Home School and New Life Pentecostal church in Kitengela, Kenya.^[9]
