History

Broadway Direct was established in 2011 by the Nederlander Organization, a privately held theatre ownership and management company founded in 1912. The platform was launched during a period of increased digitisation in Broadway ticket sales, as theatre operators expanded their online presence to engage audiences and sell tickets directly.[2]

Operations

Broadway Direct operates as an online platform providing Broadway-related news and ticket sales for theatrical productions in New York City.[2] It publishes articles covering Broadway shows, casting announcements, and industry developments, and offers ticketing services connected to Broadway theatres operated by the Nederlander Organization.[3]

Ownership

Broadway Direct is owned and operated by the Nederlander Organization. The organization owns nine Broadway theatres, including the Gershwin Theatre, Palace Theatre, and Richard Rodgers Theatre, and operates additional venues across the United States and in London’s West End.
