Buker Bhitor Agun is a 1997 Bangladeshi film, directed by Chatku Ahmed, and produced by Tanju and Sheta, under the banner of M M Movies. It stars Salman Shah, Shahnur, Ferdous Ahmed, Wasimul Bari Rajib, Misha Sawdagor, Don and others. It's actor's Ferdous Ahmed[1] debut film, and actors' Salman Shah last film.[2][3]

Production

Salman could not complete this film, which was completed by the makers with the help of other actors and puppeteers. Though shadow characters appeared in some scenes, Salman was also present.[6] Salman earned two lakh taka for this film.[7]

Reception and release

bdnews24 wrote that "Some of Salman's other films, including 'Dream Hero', Shudhu Tumi, 'Ananda Asru' and Buker Bhitor Agun, have received positive reviews".[8] The Daily Ittefaq wrote that "After his (Salman Shah) death, the films that followed were widely appreciated by the audience and commercially successful. Those movies are - 'Sotter Mrittu Nei', 'Jibon Sansar', 'Mayer Odhikar', 'Chawa Theke Pawa', 'Prem Priyoshi', 'Shopner Nayok', Shudhu Tumi, 'Anondo Osru' and Buker Bhitor Agun.[9] Bhorer Kagoj wrote that "This movie also one of his all commercial box office success movies".[10] Somoy TV has also listed the movie Buker Bhitor Agun among the hit movies starring by Salman Shah.[11] Jagonews24 wrote that "Salman Shah-Shabnur is considered the most successful romantic pair in Dhaka cinema. The late director Zahirul Haque made 'Tumi Amar' in 1994. Salman Shah and Shabnur acted together for the first time through this film. Although this was Salman's second film, Shabnur had acted in several films as a heroine. However, after forming a pair with Salman, Shabnur's career started to flourish. After that, one after another, 'Sujon Sokhi', 'Bikkhob', 'Shopner Thikana', 'Maha Milon', 'Bichar Hobe', 'Tomake Chai', 'Shopner Prithibi', 'Jibon Sansar', 'Chawa Theke Pawa', 'Prem Piyashi', 'Shopner Nayak', 'Anondo Osru', Buker Bhitor Agun; Salman-Shabnur duo acted in these 13 films. All the films were superhits".[12]

This film was released on 5 September 1997.[13][14]
