From a young age, Colby displayed an interest in creative expression, particularly enjoying storytelling and improvisation. She has mentioned in interviews that she was drawn to humor and imaginative play early on, traits that would later influence her approach to her professional work.^[7]

Colby began her professional life working in elder care in Portland, Oregon, where she was employed by the government of Oregon's Department of Human Services. In this role, she assisted elderly people and individuals with disabilities, helping them access food stamps, medical insurance, and other essential services.^[8] While the work allowed her to develop strong communication and customer service skills, she grew disillusioned with the position, citing low pay and an uncaring work environment among her colleagues.^[8]

In September 2017, at the age of 25, Colby moved from Portland to Los Angeles after signing with LA Direct Models, a leading adult industry agency. She made her professional debut in a foot-fetish themed scene for Babes, opposite Ryan McLane.^[8] Despite initial nerves, she later described the set as welcoming and professional, which helped ease her transition into adult film work.^[8]

Colby was among several LA Direct Models clients who brought forward complaints before the California Labor Commissioner's Office, alleging unethical and illegal business practices on the part of the company and its owner, Derek Hay.^[9][10][11] In October 2019, the commissioner ruled in her favor, awarding her $3,500 in unpaid earnings with interest, along with $11,450 in attorney's fees.^[12][13] The case, along with similar complaints, was later featured in a 2019 NBC investigative special.^[14][15][16]

Following her debut, Colby began performing for a wide range of studios, including Girlfriends Films, Brazzers, Bangbros, Blacked, Zero Tolerance, Third Degree, Deeper, Vixen, Kelly Madison Networks, Naughty America, Devil's Film, MissaX, DareDorm, and Kink.com, among others.^[8] She has performed in a variety of genres, ranging from fetish-themed and amateur-style productions to feature productions.^[6] One of her early career highlights was a shoot for Vixen with Xander Corvus, which she cited as a particularly positive and memorable experience due to the company's polished production style.^[8]

She has also participated in data collection projects on feline leukemia and other conditions, working in partnership with rescue organizations to track health outcomes.^[19]
