In 2023, Aykun competed at the European Youth Weightlifting Championships held in Chișinău, Moldova, in the 55 kg category.
He lifted 98 kg in the snatch and 130 kg in the clean & jerk, winning the gold medal with a total of 228 kg.[2]
At the 2023 World Youth Weightlifting Championships in Durrës, Albania, he won the bronze medal in the 55 kg category with lifts of 102 kg in snatch, 125 kg in clean & jerk, and a total of 227 kg.[3]
In 2024, he took part in the 2024 European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships held in Raszyn, Poland.
Competing in the 61 kg category, he lifted 116 kg in snatch and 145 kg in clean & jerk, earning the bronze medal with a total of 261 kg.[4]
At the 2024 World Junior Championship in León, Mexico, Aykun ranked tenth in the 61 kg category with 115 kg in snatch, 142 kg in clean & jerk, and 257 kg total.
In 2025, he competed at the 2025 European Weightlifting Championships held in Chișinău, Moldova, lifting 120 kg in snatch, 148 kg in clean & jerk, and finishing fifth with a total of 268 kg.
He also finished fifth at the 2025 IWF World Junior Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico, with 118 kg in snatch, 148 kg in clean & jerk, and a total of 266 kg.[5]
