C. James Roper (April 14, 1905[1] – September 18, 1983)[2] was an American physician and politician from Georgia. He served in the Georgia State Senate for one term, from 1957 to 1959.
Roper was born April 14, 1905, in Jasper, Georgia.[1] He attended Berea College, where he graduated in 1928.[1] Shortly after, he began teaching science and chemistry in Austinburg, Ohio.[3] He later attended the Medical College of Georgia, graduating in 1934 with an M.D.[1] He served in World War II in the Army Air Forces and was sent to Europe in 1943 as a flight surgeon, with the rank of Major.[1] He was discharged from service in 1946.[3]
