Club career

Early life and Coventry City

Perry began his youth career with Birmingham City before joining the academy of Coventry City in 2019. He progressed through the club's youth system, becoming a regular for the under-18 and under-21 sides, and captained Coventry's under-21 team on several occasions.[1]

After impressing at academy level, Perry signed his first professional contract with Coventry City in the summer of 2024. During the 2025–26 season he was named in several first-team matchday squads and featured in pre-season fixtures under head coach Frank Lampard, including a friendly against Spanish side Real Betis.[2]

Loan to AFC Rushden & Diamonds

In December 2023, Perry joined AFC Rushden & Diamonds on loan to gain senior football experience. The spell marked his first involvement in men's football away from Coventry City.[3]

Loan to Rochdale

On 15 January 2026, Perry joined National League club Rochdale on an initial 28-day youth loan.[4]

The loan was subsequently extended and Perry established himself as a first-team regular. He made 25 appearances as Rochdale secured promotion back to the English Football League through the National League play-offs. Perry successfully converted a penalty in the play-off final shootout at Wembley Stadium as Rochdale defeated Boreham Wood to end a three-year absence from the Football League.[5]

Loan to Cambridge United

Following his successful spell with Rochdale, Perry signed a new long-term contract with Coventry City in June 2026.[6]

On 21 July 2026, he joined newly-promoted EFL League One club Cambridge United on a season-long loan. Cambridge manager Neil Harris described Perry as a versatile left-footed defender and stated that the club looked forward to helping his development.[7]
