The Flinders River forms the southern boundary of the locality and Express Creek forms the eastern part of the northern boundary.[3]

The Richmond–Croydon Road runs along the north-eastern boundary.[4]

The land use is predominantly grazing on native vegetation.[5]

In the 2016 census, Cambridge had a population of 42 people.[6]

In the 2021 census, Cambridge had "no people or a very low population".[1]
