Capheris decorata occurs in five African countries: Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and South Africa. In South Africa, it has been recorded from seven provinces at elevations ranging from 42 to 1467 m above sea level, making it one of the most widespread Capheris species in the country.[3]

Habitat

The species is a burrow-dwelling spider found across multiple biomes including Grassland, Forest, Savanna, Fynbos, and Succulent Karoo. Specimens are typically collected using pitfall traps.[3]
