Carcinocephalus flavidus, or the winter rove beetle,[1] is a species of rove beetle found in North America.[2][3] It exhibits wing dimorphism between sexes, where males can be wingless, but females always are.[4][5] The species was originally described as Omalium flavidum.[4]
This beetle is found on snow in winter.
