Carlos Raúl Valcarce Medina (born 26 April 1950) is a Chilean politician who served as a deputy.[1]
He began his professional career in higher education in the late 1970s, holding senior administrative posts at the Universidad del Norte and the Catholic University of the North.[1]
In 1982, he became the first Rector of the University of Tarapacá, serving until 1987, and later held senior academic positions, including as dean at the Universidad Central.[1]
Born in Arica on 26 April 1950, he is the son of Olga del Carmen Medina and Lionel Andrés Valcarce Rocco. He is married to María Teresa Becerra Jelvez and is the father of former Chilean deputy Ximena Valcarce.[1]
He completed his primary and secondary education in Arica, attending the Anexo del Liceo Coeducacional, the English College, and later the Instituto Comercial. He subsequently studied Business Administration at the Universidad del Norte in Arica, where he obtained his professional degree.[1]
