Carrhotus sannio is a species of jumping spider in the family Salticidae. It is found across a wide range in Asia, from southern China to India, Indonesia and Guam.[1]
The species was originally described by Tamerlan Thorell in 1877 as Plexippus sannio.[1] It has undergone several taxonomic changes, being placed in various genera including Hasarius, Ergane, and Eugasmia before being transferred to Carrhotus by Prószyński in 1984.[1]
In 2020, Caleb, Bera & Acharya synonymized Bianor piratus Sen et al., 2015 with C. sannio.[2]
