Chalcis (Epirus)

39°40′50″N 21°12′32″E / 39.680546°N 21.208974°E / 39.680546; 21.208974 Chalcis or Chalkis (Ancient Greek: Χαλκίς) was a town of ancient Epirus in Mount Pindus, near which the Achelous River rises.[1] It is erroneously called by Stephanus of Byzantium a town of Aetolia.[2]

Its site is tentatively identified as near Khaliki.[3][4]
