Charles Clingman (January 19, 1883 - November 2, 1971) was an American prelate who served as the forth Bishop of Kentucky from 1936 till 1954.

Clingman was born on January 19, 1883, in Covington, Kentucky to Charles Clingman and Mary Ellen Hartsough.[1] He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Kenyon College in 1905, and then from the Virginia Theological Seminary in 1908. He was awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters in 1931 from Kenyon and a Doctor of Divinity from the Virginia Seminary in 1928 and from the University of the South in 1928, respectively.[2]
