Charles Somerville Harris (August 22, 1951[1]–December 7, 2022) was an American athletic and academic administrator. He served as the athletic director of the University of Pennsylvania between 1979 and 1985 and Arizona State University between 1985 and 1995, the first African American man to hold that position, and was the commissioner of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) from 1996 to 2002. He finished his career first as the athletic director and later as a vice president at Averett University in Danville, Virginia.
