Charles-Henri "Charlie" Wright is an American actor best known for his role as Rodrick Heffley in the 2017 film Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul.[1]
Wright faced heavy backlash and the viral #NotMyRodrick meme because his appearance differed from original actor Devon Bostick. In 2024 Wright revealed on social media that this criticism escalated to death threats which significantly impacted his mental health and overall acting career leading to a depression that lasted years as he talked about in a YouTube video about the topic.[2]
Charlie Wright was born in Los Angeles, California, United States, to Richard Wright, a photographer, and Florence Déprez-Wright, a writer and movie producer.[citation needed]
