On February 12, 2021, San-X revealed the "Chickip Dancers," a new series of mascot characters that would star in an anime television series of the same name. It is a short anime, and each episode is five minutes long.[4] This is the first terrestrial television broadcast anime with San-X characters.[5][6] The series is produced by Fanworks and directed by Rareko, who is also overseeing the series' scripts alongside Shigenori Tanabe. It aired from October 5, 2021 to March 29, 2022 on NHK Educational TV. Erino Yumiki performed the opening theme "Chickip Dance".[7][8][5]

A second season aired from September 27, 2022, to March 28, 2023,[4] and a third season aired from September 25, 2023, to March 25, 2024.[9]

Aside from the anime series, character goods and other media mix were also planned to be developed.[7][10] A Chickip Dancers video game for Nintendo Switch was released in 2022,[11][12] and a soundtrack CD was released the same year.[13] Several Chickip Dancers children's books were published in Japan by Shogakukan.[13][14]
