Christie Grobbelaar (born 15 June 2000) is a South African rugby union player.[1]
He competed for the South Africa national rugby sevens team at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where South Africa won gold,[2][3][4][5][6][7] and at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris,[8][9] where they defeated Australia to win the bronze medal final.[10][11]
Grobbelaar was named on the bench for the Sharks during the 2024 Currie Cup Premier Division, but did not ultimately make an appearance.[12]
He was named in the Sharks squad for the 2025 Currie Cup Premier Division.[13] Grobbelaar remained with the Sharks for the start of the 2025–26 United Rugby Championship, before being loaned back to the South African sevens team.[14][15] He was a try scorer in the final as South Africa won in Cape Town at the 2025 South Africa Sevens, part of the 2025–26 SVNS.[16]
