Christopher R. Walters is an American economist, academic and author. He is professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.[1][2]
Walters is most known for his work in labor economics, the economics of education, and applied econometrics. His research has been published in academic journals, including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Economic Review, Econometrica, and Journal of Political Economy.[2] He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a research fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), and a co-Editor of the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics.[3]
Walters completed his B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Virginia in 2008. Later in 2013, he obtained his PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.[1]
Career
Walters began his academic career in 2013 as an assistant professor of economics at the University of California, Berkeley. He was promoted to associate professor of economics in 2018 and professor of economics in 2024 at the same institution.[1]
