Cicurina cicur is a spider species found in Europe and Central Asia, first described by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1792.[1] While common in central and eastern Europe, it has not been recorded in Ireland and is on the Red List in Sweden.[2] This species is most commonly found in coniferous and deciduous forests, as well as dark and damp areas, such as leaf litter, caves, drains and cellars, where the spider commonly spins a sheet web.
