Club career
Williamson played for Hibernian when the club won both the Scottish Women's Premier League Cup and Scottish Women's Cup in 2016.[2] In the Scottish Cup final against Glasgow City, her cross was headed in by Lisa Robertson to give Hibernian a 23rd-minute lead. The match finished 1–1 after extra time, with Hibernian winning the penalty shoot-out 6–5.[3] In March 2017, Williamson said the cup wins had increased Hibernian's belief that they could challenge Glasgow City for the league title.[2]
Williamson missed the 2017 season through injury. She returned to first-team action in June 2018, playing the final ten minutes of a 7–1 Edinburgh derby win over Spartans.[4] Later that year, she came on as a late substitute as Hibernian defeated Motherwell 8–0 in the Scottish Women's Cup final.[5][6]
Williamson moved to Heart of Midlothian in the second half of 2019 and helped the club win SWPL 2 and promotion that year. She was appointed vice-captain ahead of the 2020 SWPL 1 season.[5] Hearts announced her departure in July 2022.[7]
International career
Williamson represented Scotland at under-19 level. UEFA's programme for the 2014 European Under-19 Championship listed her as a Hibernian midfielder and recorded six appearances and two goals during qualification.[1] She played at the final tournament in Norway, including Scotland's group match against the hosts.[8] She remained in the Scotland under-19 squad in 2015.[9]
Education
Williamson studied at Heriot-Watt University, where the Scottish Women's Football National Performance Centre was based. She said its location allowed her to combine training with her studies and was a major factor in her choice of university. She graduated in 2019 with a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences (Human Health), receiving the Watt Club Medal for Biology and the Royal Society of Biology prize.[10]
