Cloonsheebane (Irish: Cluain Sí Bán, meaning 'The clear or fallow fairy meadow') is a townland in County Leitrim, Ireland.[1][2] Its name derives from the Irish Cluain Sí Bán,[1] Cluain meaning "meadow,"[3] Sí meaning "fairy",[4] while Bán means "white",[5] and in this context it means clear or fallow.[citation needed] Cloonsheebane is part of Carrick-on-Shannon.[6] The road from Carrick-on-Shannon to Cootehall passes through the townland.[citation needed] It borders Cloonsheerevagh townland.[2]
