Cornelius Ver Bryck (January 1, 1813 – May 31, 1844) was an American portrait painter. He was active until his death in 1844, aged 31.

Ver Bryck was born in Yaugh Paugh, New Jersey,[1] in 1813.

Career

In 1833, he painted fellow artist Thomas Sully. The oil-on-canvas original is in the possession of Brooklyn Museum.[2]

He began studying under Samuel F. B. Morse in 1835. The following year, he was elected an associate member of the National Academy of Design.[3] He became a member in 1840.[4]
