Corsept (French pronunciation: [kɔʁsɛ]; Gallo: Corsèt, Breton: Korzed) is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France.

It is believed that the name comes the Latin "Corpus Septimum" because it was the seventh parish on the banks of the Loire under the patronage of St. Martin.[3]

Corsept is also the site of a number of Celtic dolmens and menhirs.[4]

History

Corsept has been suggested as a potential site for Greek trading city of Corbilo, mentioned by Pytheas, Polybius and Strabo.
