Social behavior to prevent infection
Cough etiquette is the behavioural expectation surrounding coughing.
Modern cough etiquette is a disease prevention measure.[1][2] Covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing reduces the potential for transmission of respiratory infectious agents.[3]
