GOOD Weekend very good last night - really the only time I had w/ (c) being that I worked all weekend - still obsessive and also tries to be bossy with Ingmar but he doesn't respond until she is "nice" woke up in the middle of the night upset because she can't control time.
OK this AM - fairly focused but slow with center work. Being oppositional by making "silly letters" but actually on subject for writing assignment. Bench marked at reading level c, about a year behind where she should be. Writing torturously slow, focus deteriorated. I am seeing more + more "stim" behaviors - I finally understand (c)'s constant pencil-dropping. She hangs her head down (upside down) over her knees + sits there a minute before picking up pencil. Fingers in eyes, nose, mouth, hair - Drooling + picking at skin. All these (up arrow) when a task is difficult for her. Recess swings. Lunch, extended flurry of biting Right from recess to storytime. Finally quieted during storytime. Then, writer's workshop (Frowning face). Prep for parent program, Music -> limbo + musical chairs today. Then, program rehearsal. (c) fairly inappropriate don't know how she'll do tomorrow. Rough day.
Nancy, could you take pictures of the parent day program w/ our digital camera? It's set on autoflash, 4 mega pixels. The power button is right next to the "shutter" If you're feeling ambitions, you could hit "menu" and scroll down using the zoom (top right, behind shutter button) to take short video clips. If you feel uncomfortable about this, it's ok. Please don't feel obligated.
-I'll do the best I can, no problem. Just a matter of figuring out how to work it + counting on (c)'s behavior enough to take that much focus off her. I'll try. Ok this AM - rehearsal for program, then preparations for it in the classroom. Some silliness during rehearsal. Recess - "cold" -seesaw for awhile. lunch - did not eat more than 3 bites. Storytime. Then, math test. Watching movie before parent program. Did well. I taped all I could. Hope it turned out.
Thanks for taking those video clips! They turned out pretty well. I see you figured out how to zoom in, which was good for (c)'s "solo". I (Ingmar) watched them w/ her. It's not being there, but still felt good to capture the memory and to let (c) know how special we - thought it was. Hanae saw them w (c) later, although (c) had lost some interest by then + seemed embarrassed. -Cynicism bred from having older siblings, I think. Thanks again for doing this.
Oh, you're very welcome! She was better behaved than in rehearsal. She tends to get carried away with the monster part... Great job in centers this AM. Recess, swings. Lunch - very messy today - all over self, table. Gross, and amused to be. Inappropriate with peers this week, generaly. Storytime - digging at hand. More this today than biting. Tantrum this afternoon. Met with Jenny. Tough to focus.
