The song was released on 29 April 1996, by Virgin Records, as his debut single and the lead single from his debut self-titled album (1997). The song is written by Howard Donald from Take That with Eliot Kennedy and Mike Ward, and produced by Ian Green. It peaked at number 35 on the UK Singles Chart. In 1997, "Crazy Chance" was re-released and peaked at 16 on the UK Singles Chart.
