Damien Francis Smith[1] is a former New Zealand politician. He was a Member of Parliament for ACT New Zealand from 2020 until 2023.

Smith was born in Northern Ireland and grew up in Enniskillen during The Troubles.[2] His parents were Frank and Agnes; he is one of four siblings.[2]

His early career was in corporate sales in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, in banking, and in governance and advisory.[2] He came to New Zealand in 2002.[3] He previously worked for Virgin Group and ASB Bank, and runs his own consulting business.[4]

He lives in Auckland and has one daughter.[3]
