David George Lloyd is a Dublin-born and educated university executive and academic. His academic background was that of a chemist, specialising in computer aided drug design. He serves as vice chancellor and president of the University of South Australia and is a founding co-Vice Chancellor of the new Adelaide University;

He is the immediate past Chair of Universities Australia and the immediate past Chair of the Committee for Adelaide. Lloyd was also a past member of South Australia's Economic Development Board.[1]
