Early life and education
Born in 2002 in Settimo Torinese and graduated from a technical institute in Turin,[1] he decided to pursue a musical career, studying piano and working as a barber to pay for his studies.[2][3]
Career
His first musical experience was in 2020 following the release of the single "Forti e fragili" on Spotify, then, during the same year, for the record label Warner Music Italy.[4][5]
In November 2020, he auditioned for the twentieth edition of the Canale 5 music talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, advancing to the initial stage.[6][7] In March 2021, he gained access to the evening phase of the program, joining the team led by professors Alessandra Celentano and Rudy Zerbi.[8] The following May, he reached the final, placing third in the overall standings,[9][10] tied with singer-songwriter Aka 7even and dancer Alessandro Cavallo.[11]
While participating in Amici, he released several unreleased songs, including "Il cielo contromano"[12][13] (certified platinum[14]), "Parole a caso",[15] "Ancora in due", "0 passi"[16] (certified double platinum[17]) and "La prima estate"[18] (certified gold[19]). He later compiled all five tracks into his first EP, Il cielo contromano, released on 14 May 2021,[20] and later certified platinum.[14][21] He subsequently received an award at the SEAT Music Awards for the single "Il cielo contromano".[22][23]
On August 15, 2021, he released the single "Pensa a te",[24][25] followed on 24 September by the single "Giove".[26][27] Both were included on his first studio album, Il cielo contromano su Giove, released on 8 October.[28][29] The album also spawned the single " Mentre ti spoglio", released on 17 December.[30][31] On 15 April 2022, he released the song "Non mi fa dormire", a collaboration with Caffelatte.[32][33] The single "Luci addosso" was released on 17 June.[34][35] In 2023, he released the singles "Casa gigante",[36][37] "Balla (come la domenica)"[38][39] and "Le regole del fuoco".[40][41]
In 2024, the artist decided to change his stage name from Deddy to Dennis, his birth name.[42][43] To mark the occasion, he released the single "Un altro nome",[44] which was released on 19 July.[45][46] On 27 September the single "Persi per niente" was released,[47][48] which won the Lunezia Award from the newspaper La Nazione.[49]
The single "Hooligans" was released on 28 February 2025,[50][51] followed by the single "Pari o dispari" on 9 May.[52][53] The single "Estate infinita" was released on 18 July.[54][55]
Private life
Since 2024 he has been in a relationship with model and influencer Nicole Cena.[56]
